Don’t you think that since it was a “no” for MT they just want to know if you are still interested in attending the school? I could have missed something here in the thread, but seems to me they are just trying to figure out if you would like to come to BW for liberal arts.

That is exactly what they want to know Raam1012…they list some alternate programs to see if the student is interested in going that route.

Arent you all finding this process grueling? Oh my I never expected it to be so intense.

Raam - Yes that’s what they are looking for, but I was just wondering why some students received acceptances for the college at the same time as rejection from conservatory, but others did not. I’m a little anal about consistency.

It appears then that the no without post card is for both conservatory and college. Those that received post card are admitted to college if want to pursue another major. Don’t you think?

NYSon - YES its crazy, overwhelming and a roller coaster - not the kind I enjoy. I am trusting in the members of this site who tell us we will look back fondly. I can say as hard as receiving a rejection is, that is wiped away by the next good experience…hence the roller coaster. And we have had a few really good laughs so far. One was when my dad referred to auditions as “try outs” S almost peed “pap don’t ever call it a try out again please and please don’t ask anyone where the try outs are” LOL My dad is a sports guy but we love him for supporting his singing/dancing grandson.

lol that is funny. My son hates when people refer to touring shows as traveling shows he said it sounds like the circus lol. We to have had some fun moments in our travels. I just wish I knew all would end up ok for him.

Golden Rule dictates me to share what happened last year with BW’s wait list. Freshman S says they took two girls and two boys from the wait list last year. Good luck everyone!

Thanks samiamsmom! We still have lots of auditions ahead of us - but it was so nice that the first decision was “not a no”! Fingers crossed for a bump up call - but not counting on it by any means!

Still holding out hope we will get a bump up as well from BW.

Just wondering if anyone who has been on the wait list have been moved up prior to April/May?

My son was moved off the wait list on May 1. He is so happy at BW. We had already sent a deposit to another school but when BW made the offer he jumped at it. One piece of advice would be to send them any additional awards or reviews that might have happened since the audition. If there is anything that you can add to your resume it might help move you up on the wait list. Also keep in touch with the office of admission. I think it helps if they know you are interested.

Thanks for the info happydae. We just actually emailed them last week about some updates to the resume and told them he was still very interested. They sent a nice reply saying they would add info and congratulating him on his accomplishments and they were happy he is still interested. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My S just received an email from BW Admissions that sounds on the surface like one of those “checking-in” emails from a school he’s applied to and auditioned for, but when you read further, they mention “admitted students”…but he hasn’t received anything yet from BW one way or the other, and the online status check provides no information! And of course the Admissions Office has closed for the day… Argghh, this is so frustrating!

As expected…Received a voicemail from BW Admissions this morning confirming that, yes, my S was accepted academically to the universitybut that MT/Conservatory acceptances wouldn’t be going out until mid to late March.

We were at the BW auditions over the weekend and they said the same thing - notifying people in mid March. I think they said by 3/20, but not 100% sure of that date since we’ve been at many auditions over the past week or so.
