The Thoughts Thread (Triple T)

So…weather’s been kind of nippy recently…

the truth.

by the way – who’s winning at the oscars on sunday? i loved slumdog, but i definitely liked bbutton better, and hope it wins. the same with brad for best actor. i’d say winslet for actress, it’s about time shoe got something after the cold shoulder when titanic came around. best supporting actress – no idea. best supporting actor; i cannot even imagine what would happen if heath were to lose. i’d “be in a padded room forever.”

It’s been warm here, collegehopefull. We may get up into the 40s today, yay!

My oscar picks are a couple pages back.

^ Sounds toasty.

It has just occurred to me that the last movie I watched in a theater was when Mama Mia! came out.
(and I had to watch that OVER Dark Knight…girls…They’ll rob you…)
And the time before that was MUNICH!

I need to get to a theater.

It’s been raining a bit recently, but it went to a sunny 62 yesterday supposedly. According to the weather forecast from like 3 days ago.

Guess where I live? Haha.

…

It’s 76 degrees here. :|

^ Fie on your firstborn and his sire!

Although it’s supposed to get down to 57 tomorrow; burrrrr. I don’t care; like all uber-cool people, I will be inside, catching up on Battlestar Galactica and homework.

…and by “uber cool”, I mean “epic nerds”.

Ok, I just called like 30 people because I just finished watching Marley & Me and am telling everyone TO NOT WATCH IT!!! IT IS WAYYYY TOO SADDDDDD!!!

^ Oh, bummer. Some dog dies. Boo hoo. lulz

My friends wanted to see who would cry at a movie, so they made me watch The Notebook (at which I didn’t cry because I only cry at Holocaust/genocide movies).
I just saw Nowhere in Africa a few minutes ago, which was good.

Heh. I actually just got done re-watching Life Is Beautiful. AND CRYING. Now, back to Battlestar.

As for Marley…haven’t seen it and won’t, mainly because of the ending. I’m more of a cat person than a dog girl, but STILL. I don’t do endings like that. :(

I teared up when I watched Black Hawk Down. THAT is a gut wrenching movie.

A movie about a lovable dog dying? looks around No.

lmao. i remember seeing a walk to remember with my sig. other – not knowing it was going to be a tragedy that would leave her crying for days. that movie was pretty sad.

but definitely, in the most recent times, there’s only one movie that has brought me to an all time low. seven pounds. holy lord. if you’ve seen pursuit of happyness – think of that “yea-i-can-do-anything-and-i-believe-in-the-american-dream” feeling you had at the end of the movie. now, completely switch that feeling up 180 degrees. that is what happens after you see 7lbs.

it sucks like a porn star.

i definitely gotta agree with you about a walk to remember prof. that movie was incredibly sad, one of the few movies that has made me cry.

seven pounds, though, i just plain didn’t like. i went to see it with a girl id gone out with a few times and we ended up leaving the theatre about 3/4 of the way thru cuz we were both hating it…but either way it ended up with some porn-star like sucking =D

^ Bow chicka wow woowwww

I thought Seven Pounds was a great movie. I didn’t tear up, though I thought it was powerful, heartrending, and well made.

Schindler’s List… I started silently crying about five minutes in and ended up sobbing by the end. Runner up is The Pianist.
Those are truly powerful movies, especially the first.

Schindler’s List made me cry- first at the scene where all the women are shoved in the shower and they think they’re being gassed and it turns out to be water, and then the ending. The Prestige and Atonement made me cry, too. Come to think of it, I cry at a lot of movies. :)

Last movie I saw in theatres was “He Just Not That Into You”.

I don’t generally cry over movies, but I do over the news. When the firefighter saved the koala in Australia? Total. Waterworks.

^ Sam the Koala! Didn’t make me cry, but it DID make me want a koala.

Enough of sad things: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idRc_KkInds&feature=user
