What schools are the "Top 100"? Everyone refers to them, but there isn't a set list.

Unfortunately, that "Top 100" everyone speaks of tends to mean US News's rankings.

So it's the top 100 for NUs and LACs? Or the top 50 of each?

i would say top 70 of nu and top 30 of lac roughly because there are less lac then nu

The #30 lac is probably comparable to the #40-50 university, not #70.

I wasn't even including LACs. Most people, when speaking of the top 100, are talking about universities, not colleges. (If they were speaking of the latter, they usually specify so.)

Is Bard College a top 100?

Bard is an LAC, it's ranked #36 on the most recent US News list, so if one is trying to combine research Us and LACs, it's probably right on the bubble of top 100, but it's certainly seen as an excellent college.
