Well, I capitalized everything for emphasis. Basically, now that some of us have begun summer we actually have some free time, for things like sleep, eating, and TV. I just wanted to make a thread where we can recommend good TV shows, and ask questions.

I'll start by listing a few TV shows that I think are great (notice I said great, not good)

Drama:
-LOST
-Heroes
-Fringe

Comedy:
-Scrubs (Except season 10)
-How I Met Your Mother
-The Office (US) (until recently)

Those are my top recommendations. Now I'm trying to choose a good drama show for this summer. I have some comedy I've been watching, but I need a show with a good plot. I've heard Dexter and Prison Break are both good. Any advice on which to start watching?

If you want a solid drama, Breaking Bad is your best bet. Try to catch up before July though, because it’s fifth season is premiering around then.

Chuck (best show ever)

White Collar (I think this is the show CCers would enjoy most.)

House

Smallville (I just started watching this and I love it.)

Family Guy (Just plain funny.)

Breaking Bad
Lost
Weeds
Sons of Anarchy
My name is earl
Greys Anatomy
Scrubs
Community
Skins UK
The Office
and many more ( I am a netflix monster)

Heroes was good for a while, but it really fizzled out. I affirm the Breaking Bad support, and if Arrested Development hasn’t been mentioned yet, watch it. Now.

If you haven’t seen it, watch Band of Brothers. That show is probably the best I’ve ever seen. Watch The Pacific too; it’s a spiritual successor.

60-min shows:
White Collar
Burn Notice
Suits
House (First two seasons only)
**Note: I don’t recommend Necessary Roughness, Royal Pains, Covert Affairs, or Common Law although they’re all rather similar (USA network shows)

Sit-Coms (30-min epi):
Friends
How I Met Your Mother
**Note: Try comparing the plotlines. Eerily similar.

Animated (30-min epi):
The Simpsons (Try taking a look at the earlier seasons!)
Futurama

@HardworkFTW: Just stop after Season 2. That’s when they really made up random diseases/disorders instead of sticking with medical reality. It’s also where they started feeling the need for physical violence (Guns, explosions, punching, etc.)

Recommended movie that you probably haven’t seen:
Princess Mononoke (No, it’s not a chick-flick or a Disney princess movie.)

Can’t wait for Season 5 of Breaking Bad! I also have Workaholics Season 3 which just premiered last week. Oh, and I’m finally going to order The Wire on Netflix to see if that show lives up to its hype.
