hint hint: never get bubble gums

I find that when I'm really nervous, peppermint gum helps me calm down. But not if it's too strong, Trident is tasty but has a strange flavor (And the pieces are tiny!), and Altoids are a little bit... strong (Good if you're sleepy though.) Any type of gum would probably work, take a look at this from Wikipedia:
"The U.S. Armed Forces have supplied soldiers with chewing gum since World War I because it helped both to improve the soldiers' concentration and to relieve stress. Recent studies show chewing gum can also improve one's mood."
Ya gotta love it! I'm definitely doing this next time I take the SAT =_=

Would be nice to do that in IB exams too haha, but its not allowed :(

ACtually it does work...HAHA it keeps ur mouth occupied and you breath evenly so you don't get nervous as easily...proven fact...I gave up chewing on my nails and my grades improved...but now my pends are all chewed up

Excuse my earlier post... apparently, mint works too: "The Greeks and the Romans used mint to stimulate the circulation, the heart and boost intellect and memory. It is helpful for headaches and migraine. If you are dozy and have a big report or deadline, this is this scent you want to have wafting through the room. It has a soothing and stimulating effect on the brain. This includes both Peppermint and Spearmint."

haha....maybe I should take some mint and fruit gums to the exam for full effect

hence the whole "team" part.

is it allowed though? Dont they say no food and drink at the begining of the test?

gum is not food...and it's not drink...in the worst case say it's a new kind of cough drop LOL

just say you have a sore throat and they will let you have it

Is the orange flavored trident gum you people are talking about the tropical twist flavor?

I chew Nicorette gum! Works wonders.

R-Kom... that'd be an interesting experiment. And if you add Mozart (night before) to that... you've got a triple-whammy. Success! We're building a champion. Any guinea pigs out there? :)

ApWorld... yeah, that's the one.

I'm going to be a guinea pig for chewing gum while taking the SAT test. :[ I don't have any Mozart music. :P I have Beethoven. Anyhoo if anyone would like to send Mortzart's musics to me, PM me. :] I'm going to take the SAT on April 1. :P So wish me luck!

PUNKiiE, I've got some Mozart... if you (or anyone else) want me to send it to you, PM me with the best way to get it to you. =) Good luck in April.

Orbit = 2400 in Jan

Which orbit flavor? : )

Orbit is better than Trident? :/ Uh oh...I bought Trident instead of Orbit. ><; Oh well. :] I wonder if listening to Mozart's music and chewing Trident gum will get me a good score. ^_^

Does that orbit citrusmint have orange? If so it could be the key to an even more secure 2400 over the peppermint one :O

Edit: OMG it is orange

wow. i think one day when i am bored, i will compile a few mixtapes of Mozart, and the day before the SAT, i will listen to all of them while reading the wallstreet journal. heck, during the breaks inbetween, i`ll listen to the most calming mixtapes and chew on orbit orangeflavored gum.
