i’ve heard that it’s pretty…

i’ve heard it’s very ugly.

What is it? and why?

(I go to Michigan, and I think it’s pretty ugly here.)

You're ugly

why does your reply not surprise anyone

let me be the first to give a constructive answer...
I visited Penn last Friday and I thought campus was in general very pretty.
I thought the Quad and the Locust Walk were the best, but you probably need to go and see for yourself. Things were cleaner than I expected.

I also visited Cornell, but you can't really compare the two campuses side by side because both are completely different styles. One is integrated into Philadelphia and one is large wide open spaces with large buildings in Ithaca ("isolated geographically").

Penn campus is definitely pretty, just look at the pics

The campus is pretty. some of the surrounding areas (Drexel, anything north of Market) range from ugly to scary.

on a scale from eyestab to perpetual orgasm, i give it an 8.5

it's soo so so pretty

The campus itslef is pretty...the surrounding city of Philly, not so much.

DREXEL - UGLY

PENN - BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

seriously, i go to drexel ( am transferring), and it is a night and day difference walking to and from each campus. Drexel is very industrial, penn isnt.

just go , youll see!

Depends on where in Philly. Philly has some gorgeous neighborhoods (Society Hill, Chestnut Hill, etc.), and also has the largest (and one of the most beautiful) urban parks in the world (Fairmount Park--at 9,000 acres, almost 6 times as big as Central Park). Parts of West Philly (a few blocks from Penn)--not so pretty.

Penn has beautiful buildings and ugly ones. All of the ugly ones were built between 1950 and 1980.

On the plus side, many of them are to be demolished in the "Penn Connects" eastward expansion master plan.

Now if only the high rises were on that list...

I can hardly believe this thread exists. Penn is gorgeous.

Just a few of my favorites :)

the outside is not so pretty. but the actual campus was gorgeous.

Tutes

Prosti

And at Penn freshman can live in the Quad - at UMich it's only for law students.

i think it's the coolest campus i've seen so far. I really like the urban, yet cozy feeling.

i had two friends from maryland universities visit today

one of them said "i've been here 3 hours, and im in love with the place"

I just hate all the asians everywhere

but she thinks my tractor is sexy
