How did you manage that one, Muastot?

So you are bashing the school that denied you, by saying that a school that you secretly think is second rate by saying you are top?

On a side note, congrats on being in the top 10%.

hey i don’t get this. like, Lillium and wescoast have reasons to vent. Pinkheart, you got accepted into four AMAZING first tier schools and you’re mad because two others because they waitlisted you? this makes no sense. Do you realize how many people would KILL (this includes me) to get into Exeter, Hotchkiss, Deerfield, AND Middlesex???

Pinkheart was being sarcastic…

I would vent about some waitlists…but being accepted into your by far 1st choice really takes away the animosity from the other schools. Almost make you want to laugh at them…but at the same time makes you all so much more grateful (Tom knows what I mean).

Still bringing all my wait list/rejection letter to SPS though, especially the Andover rejection. For personal reasons…

Yep, I know exactly what you mean. It was so perfect for me because I got my rejection and wait list mid-morning so it totally dashed my hopes of getting into Andover and it felt really, really awful. Then, at 9pm, I checked my Andover decision and it turned that frown upside down (for lack of a better expression, lol)! It was just kind of one of those perfect things that you think is totally implausible - and then it happens.

Yes, grateful is definitely the word. I think it just goes to show that interest really shines through. I had always been a lot more interested in Andover than I had been in Exeter or Deerfield so I think it came through in my interview and essays. I, too, kept my rejection and wait list letters, though.

Hey…friend’s daughter went to Berkshire which was her not her first choice (nor second, nor third) school. She went, she excelled, now she’s finishing her first year at Columbia.
It’s what you do when you get there, guys!

IF you are waitlisted at all your schools, consider a second round of applications. Wait list is not fun, and second round is not nearly as hard as first; now you are an expert!

Lots of excellent schools are extending expanding into rolling admissions for qualified full pay applicants.
