It seems to me everyone is hearing results from schools at different times and not in one consistent way. This had led me to believe i’m “out of the running” if I did not receive a phone call, email, letter of interest, etc. from discussed schools. But then some kind people/representatives on CC are recently saying not EVERYONE needs to receive a phone call, interest email, (those other things) if it’s an acceptance or wait list, because they come in the mail, or in “waves”. So i’m just confused and hoping for the best!! And for everyone who is still waiting.
CONGRATS to everyone on all the acceptances, letters of interest, and WL notifications. That’s amazing. <33
Just for some clarification:
I’m still waiting on Temple, Ball State, Emerson, BoCo, Shenandoah, Wright State, Manhattan, Viterbo, Pace and Penn State, Coastal and Point Park.
Anyone with news on these places/similar anxieties feel free to post here and LETS GO Class of 2020!!
Emerson notified mid-March (3/17) last year and Point Park says they’ll notify by March 15th if you have everything in order, so hang in there—we’re in the homestretch!
Wright just started trickling out their acceptances. New notification method this year… No ‘standard’ pattern to look for, unfortunately. Hang in there.
Why the trickle? Anyone know? My D is in the same boat (some different schools) but we dread the mailbox every day because it seems like bad news comes in the mail.
@4gsmom, the only reason I can think of for the “trickle” is that schools might use those early phone-call notifications to sound out their top picks on likelihood of attendance. Once they know they likely have boys A & B plus girls C & D in place, they can build the rest of their class around those four picks, avoiding “type” duplicates or voice-type duplicates. This is just a guess, using my overactive imagination that has nothing better to do than wait…
So many schools seem to do that… Admitting little by little. Last year we truly appreciated the schools that said, “We’ll notify on X date” and then actually did that. Wish they all used that method. Hang in there folks… Home stretch.
For what it is worth, my S received a very early letter from Wright State, but he met a girl at a visit day (after acceptance) who received her acceptance weeks after him. I’m thinking Wright State may have been using this method before, but people didn’t realize it. He auditioned on the last audition day (a Sunday) and received his letter before the end of week. She auditioned much earlier than he did, was notified much later, BUT they had the same outcome. Try to stay positive and not get caught up with who has been notified. Hugs to you all!
Did you get an acceptance letter from Wright State from the general admissions office? We got one back in Dec from the school before the audition. It came with a small financial aid award.
This trickle of decisions is absolutely brutal. Really hard not to look at it as a negative when some kids who auditioned for a certain school on the same day received acceptances days or weeks ago and you’re still waiting.
