finally another person accepted to hotel school! only a few other ppl. from CC seem like they were accepted to hotel school. its so cool cuz we are all going to get to know each other since it's such a small school! :-)

Yeah, it is definitely great that the hotel school is so small. This way, I feel we'll be a much more close-knit group than some of the larger schools.

I'm so excited to have been accepted for ED. In fact, I almost wish it was RD so it would already be April. This way, I wouldn't need to wait another 8 months to meet everyone.

I won't be on either tonight because I've got to finish Candide for AP Euro and two OP ED papers for AP English.

Yikes.

What kind of work experience did you have reflections? Out of curiosity and for future Hotel School applicants and people in the RD round that are looking at applying now.

My work experiences:

-Bus girl and then later on, waitress at a Japanese resturant
-Subway's worker
-Tutor (not really hospitality but just thought I'd add that in there ^^)

Decision: Accepted
college: Engineering

SAT: 740 M, 650 V
SAT IIs: 700 MII, 700 PHYS
GPA: 3.7/4.00 UW, 4.24 W
Rank: N/A

Location: Jersey
other stuff: Pole Vaulter (State champ (NJ) - Group 1)

rickles, which year was that state champ and which season?

-Reflections I worked at a Japanese restaurant too. I liked it for awhile until they kept trying to force me to memorize more and more Japanese and Chinese. I'm not even a huge fan of japanese food or sushi so I don't know if it was a perfect match for me. They would all tell jokes in Chinese behind my back about me every once in awhile and she kept trying to get me to come over and meet her daughter who was like four years younger then me so I guess other than the fact that my boss was wicked sketchy it was a good job . . . But congrats on acceptance!

Haha! Wow, Hotelschool, you just gave me a really good laugh with the really-young-daughter thing.

I really enjoyed my work at the Japanese resturant also. The people were really nice to me and made me feel very welcome even though I was so different from them.

And thankfully, nobody tried to introduce me to their sons. Haha.

Candide is a great book very funny had to read it in AP Euro in 10th grade

ya I was the only one under 30 that worked there and the only non-asian. My boss was like "oooo you're such good boy do you have girlfriend?" (with her intense mandarin accent) and I was like umm no why? thinking she was hitting on me. Then she was like "ooooooo I have daughter that very very cute" and I was like umm ok (thinking maybe she actually had a hot daughter). She pulls out the photo and she looks like a 12 year old and I was 16. Ever since that day things were a little bit different and I quit a month or so later. Everything worked out well I guess I got out at a good time, got a job at a great hotel, found out about the hotel school, and now I am going to the hotel school. Probably all because of that one instance. Funny how things work out.

and as a ps that is not intended to be offensive to any Asian person. I really liked her outside of that one time and she was really nice to me. I don't hate asian peope so I don't want to get a ton of pms about how disrespectful I am. She, in particular, had an AWFUL accent and it was very stereotypical asian.

shoofie, im from newton too! what school do you go to?

haha ... i have to agree with u hotelschool, thats pretty freaky for the boss to ask for u to see her daughter.
