feel free to comment on my pathetic attempt to get into Cornell AEM RD.....ps from northeast ohio

Your scores are well within the range for Cornell as published in the Fiske Guide to Colleges, and your gradepoint is excellent. If your essays are unique that is a further plus.

I think you have picked up on the fact that college admissions are getting harder each year. That is because of demographics -- there are roughly 75,000 more 18-year olds every year until 2009, when the trend starts to reverse. So, even with your excellent qualifications, you can't count on getting into Cornell. But I certainly wouldn't use the word "pathetic." Keep your hopes up, KG974!

i think building up false hope can be just as detrimental to an applicant as complete and utter hopelessness, SuNa.

KG, youre scores arent great. but if you can craft your essays around the EC's which you feel most passionately about, and show the adcoms that you ARE special and you deserve to be there because you think Cornell will help you, then you might have a decent chance.

it all depends on how you present yourself dude. write a couple well thought out essays and we might see you at Ithaca next year.

Mr rubber ducky, I reject the assumption made in your post that I am "building up false hope." In fact, I think it is hurtful to the original questioner, KG, to post something like that. And .. I may be wrong, but isn't the crafting of essays something that is now in the past?

somebody is way to sensitive, go to Dr. Phil. Rubber Ducky is telling it like it is. Where did u hear essay crafting is a thing of the past? Because the essays are where they separate the acceptances from the rejected.

SuNa, you are rejecting the truth.

building false hope can be viewed in 2 ways:

1) u gain confidence (even if its artificial) and tend to take your essays way more seriously. Because, u would obviously put in a much harder effort if u feel u have a chance.

2) u tend to get soooooo carried by the gust, you lose contact with Control Tower Realiy.

I'm not sayin ducky or Suna are right or wrong...just sayin that for everythin u think is wrong...there may be somethin right in it

When I said crafting of essays is now in the past, I was referring to this year's college application process, not to essay writing in general!!

lol, Arjun, I love your absurd comments.

still not following what u mean by essay crafting in the application process. arjun- good insights lol

Holy crap arjun, that was deep man, lol.

I'm losing contact with the Reality Control Tower, ****.
