2 thumbs wayyyy up for Calamity Ware!
I used to do that (buy myself a reward) every time I was around my father-in-law. You do what you have to do
I bought them as a stocking stuff for the whole fam because I love them!
I am happy to report that inspired by this fun thread I was able to locate and purchase a replacement disappearing civil liberties mug. Yay.
My library just gave me a super nice tall ceramic travel mug. Really lovely cagey-pine green color. Yay libraries!
I never thought about it, but I do use the same mugs (for coffee) when I’m home and so does H. He likes a clear glass Bodum mug and I like a smaller, pottery mug (it’s made by Burleigh Pottery–Ink Blue Pollen Osbourne) mug. I got two as a gift from my younger daughter about five years ago from a small shop that both of us really like. I dropped one recently and the handle came off. Luckily, it was a clean break and I was able to use a super glue to repair it. So far, so good.
I have too much space devoted to mugs in a cabinet. Some, like the ones that go with our everyday dishes, are for tea only. Others are for coffee. We don’t mix the two. I have favorites - one china mug is printed with the Rosetta Stone, another I bought in Munich.
We moved a bunch over to our other home, old wedding gifts, mugs from different programs we were on, etc. Oh. And a bunch that people take over there and leave.
When I worked I used Contigo travel mugs and whatever program mug I could scrounge up. My second year there I was given my first mug after being loaned out for a proposal. Some creep stole it. Unfortunately, it was not replaceable.
The mug has to fit my hand and it can’t have any metal around the rim.
Like that one with “not my circus…”
It would be an impossible Sophie’s Choice if you asked me to only keep one mug. I love them all!
I have a mug cabinet that is full. I have seasonal, vacation, saying, holiday, theme, ceramic, stainless, insulated, small, large, tall, short and soup-sized mugs. I use two a day. My kids choose their mugs by mood each day, too.
I get a new mug or two each year to celebrate something or as a reward, but when you’re 60, that suddenly adds up to a lot of mugs!
