Congratulations on your S's good news. He has been accepted to some great schools!

JudyL, yes, congratulations! I rarely see anyone posting about stage managament. The best of luck to your son. My d is waiting on Mason Gross. Her status page just changed today from Pending to "In process" She does have two other options so it's not a major nail biter but RU is my alma mater and I loved it. Again, congratulations!

RB123, Thank you so much for your kind words. Hopefully your daughter will hear very soon. We had more good news in the mail today. My S was accepted to Virginia Commonwealth. He is still waiting for a few more school decisions. The waiting is hard!

Well, "not admitted" on the Rutgers status page means just that: NOT ADMITTED. My S's page showed that status on the 13th, the "official" letter was dated the 12th, and it arrived today the 15th. Pretty fast!

Anyway, since we've been chatting about rejection letters, just let me say that this one was a FORM letter (probably from Admissions, not the MG School of the Arts), simply stating that "it will not be possible to admit you. . ." plus some brief reference to the fact that they considered the talent assessment, hs transcript, and std test scores. Funny, though, the letter was mostly about applying again in a couple of years as a transfer student! How odd.

i recieved a call from Purchase for BFA acting about two weeks after my audition on the 4th of Februrary.

congrats! where else did you apply and get in? and where are u leaning towards?

D received acceptance to Syracuse Acting on Saturday!! Celebration!

My D was accepted to Rutgers MGSA yesterday - She checked her status yesterday morning and it changed from "Pending Talent Assessment" to "Accepted"!! This morning she got an official email from Rutgers stating she had been accepted! She is going to spend a day taking classes there and at CMU during Spring Break. She heard from CMU last Monday evening. Her audition for CMU was exactly like DanKennett's - she auditioned for both auditors and did 3 pieces, reworked one, and did an improvisation exercise. She also was accepted to Michigan, USC (BFA acting) and Chapman - She is still waiting on Minnesota, NCSA, BU, NYU, UCLA, Fordham and DePaul. Hope this information helps!

Congrats to the talented D's of poohie and actingmom! Way to go!

Thank holly06!

FYI My d just got a call from Minnesota - she got it!!!!! Whoooppeee!!!

Son got into NCSA wait listed at Minn/Guthrie and Rutgers

Woo Woo for all the above good news!!

Hi, Question for acting mom or other with info about theater programs..
My D received her acceptance package from Mason Gross (theater) today and over the weekend she received invitation to accepted Students Day at Ticsh/NYU for drama..anyhow..wondering what your feeling about the difference in quality of the two programs..besides one being in the city and the other not..and one being considerably more expensive than the other.. thanks..

My d just got her acceptance packet from DePaul for those who are waiting to hear.

east coaster, thanks for the nice pm - can't wait to see the results for both!

My son was accepted to Muhlenberg and wait listed to DePaul (both for Stage Management). He was so disappointed, DePaul was his first choice. He has been admitted to his other top choices, Syracuse and Emerson. Does any one have an opinion to either school?

Congrats to all of you getting good news! My D got an invitation today to an NYU "admissions reception". It says these are events for admitted students, but doesn't specify Tisch or any other details except time and place. Do we assume she is admitted? Are there any other programs AT NYU for accepted students that didn't get invited to Saturday on the Square? Rather confusing and since we are in CA it is too late to call! So thanks all for any input you may have. Happy for sure, but confused as well!

Hi Happy2be,
I think this is the same invitation my D received. Above the words Admissions Reception see if it says..Your official offer of admission to Tisch School of the Arts will be on the way to you!..I think in past years it was called Saturday in the Square..but I believe this is the same thing..an invitation for admitted students. Congratulations to you daughter!

Thanks east coaster! Same to your D! No, our invite doesn't mention Tisch, but one of my d's friends got the exact same thing...with no mention of Tisch either. We'll be making a phone call in the morning to check details I think. :)

My daughter is transferring from a small liberal arts college and just got her acceptance today from the Theatre School at DePaul for acting! Finally, good news! Just curious if anyone else who go in there received any merit aid.

Is it just me or does everything seem to have come to a grinding halt the last couple of days? I know the site has been down some, but it seems the posts have slowed way, way down and that not many people are getting any news. Guess this is the calm before the last big push of letters comes out??? Makes it seem so much longer when I don't have great stuff to read on college confidential:)
