Theatre Programs

Hi guys, I’m a senior deciding between two universities I would like to attend. I am a theatre major, but I do love to explore academics. My two top choices are Boston University and Northwestern University. I have questions about these two programs, and I’m hoping answers will help me decide.

Boston University states that 75% of its students are in the arts industry after 10 years of graduating. Does anyone know the percentage at Northwestern University?

Which school has a better network?

Is Boston University an academically challenging school if you have an unweighted 4.0 GPA and received a 2220 on the old SATs?

I am sure that I will have more questions if anyone answers these questions. Thank you!

Side Note: If you are a student that transferred between these schools or were between these schools, then can you explain why you choose X school over Y.

Go to BU - you sound like you’ll fit right in there. What do you exactly like Northwestern over BU?

Not that rankings are everything, but Boston University is ranked #38 while Northwestern is #12. If you’re interested in academics, Northwestern is highly regarded. And its alumni are impressive: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Northwestern_University_alumni#Arts_and_entertainment_.28theatre.2C_TV_and_film.29

Also: Chicago is a much stronger theatre town than Boston.

Why do you prefer BU to NU?
