Hello,
I’m a high school junior from Iowa. I was hoping to know some realistic chances for the more competitive liberal art colleges.
Grades:
-Freshman year I had straight A’s taking Band, APUSH, Biology, English Honors, Geometry Honors, and Spanish 1
-Sophomore year I had straight A’s taking Band, AP World, AP Biology, English honors, Algebra 2 Honors, Spanish 2 honors and Chem honors
-So far first trimester Junior Year I have A’s in Band, AP Chem, AP Gov, AP Seminar, Pre Calc honors, US lit honors, and a B+ in Spanish 3 honors
3.98 GPA unweighted, my school doesn’t do weighted.
EC:
-I have been in swimming for the past 9 years
- I am heavily involved in Band, and have participated in our Iowa’s All State Festival for the past 2 years, this year I was second chair.
- I participate in Mock Trial and Board game club (The most serious and academic club ever to exist)
- I volunteer at the local animal shelter and have participated in programs to teach children who may not be able to afford swim lessons how to swim
Test Scores:
I just took the ACT for the first time and got a 33 with 35 English, 34 Reading, 31 Math, and 30 Science. I am waiting for PSAT results
Any input any of you have would be really greatly appreciated for my chances at schools like Bowdoin, Wesleyan, Pomona, etc.
