Thermodynamics

I'm a sophomore MechE student currently taking thermodynamics. While doing research on compressor performance evaluation techniques this past summer, I fell in love with the thermal and fluid sciences. Thermodynamics has been my favorite class this semester, although there is never as much time as I would like to spend on it amongst the other classes.

Here's the problem though: I'm not even doing extremely well in Thermo. The grade is based off of two midterms and a final, and so far we've only taken the first midterm. I knew the material well but was too slow and didn't get to finish a lot of it.

I'm interested in doing further research in the thermal and fluid sciences. Will an average grade in thermo be detrimental to this goal?

I’m in the same boat with you except thermo isn’t interesting to me. We have 3 exams, 1 drop and I did well on my first exam but the second exam was really difficult and we only have 50 minutes to finish it. I say stick it out and your average grade won’t be detrimental.
