I'll be making a college visit for a couple of days next month. What (besides touring campus) would be fun to do in the area? Any dining recommendations? Thanks.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn & Suites which is maybe two years old. It is very nice and close to the campus. During our visit to Hendrix we ate dinner one night at Michelangelo’s which features an Italian menu and another night at Mike’s Place which features seafood, pasta, chicken and steaks usually with a Cajun twist. Both of these restaurants provided good food and service and are located in downtown Conway. We also visited a coffeehouse, Something’s Brewing, just south of campus. Hendrix has a link from their site listing Conway Hotels and Restaurants.

I go to Hendrix now and I can tell you there is not much to do in Conway other than Hendrix. The other person’s recommendations on food are good. If you want something else to do you will probally have to go down to Little Rock (30 min. drive). They have the Clinton Library there and some other cool stuff. Conway doesn’t have a lot to do, so even if you go to Hendrix you will be going to Little Rock to anything fun that is not school related

I agree that most of the interesting things are in Little Rock. In addition to the Clinton Library, I visited the Peabody Little Rock and enjoyed seeing the ducks parade around on the red carpet.

We visited Hendrix recently. Fun things we did in LR include Heifer International Village (free), green tour of Heifer headquarters (free), and the Old State House (also free). The Clinton School of Public Service also has a free public lecture series. All are located in the downtown/Rivermarket area.
