What are some helpful hints to getting into grad school? What are some things to do during the undergrad years to boost your resume, so to speak?

From what I have learned, get involved with research. That is one of the biggest things aside from getting the best grades you can.

Absolutely correct. Research experience is not only important for your resume but also because you will be able to develop a personal relationship with your research mentor who will be writing a letter of reference for your entry into a graduate program. A strong letter form someone who knows you well is a big deal.
