things to do

okay so we know that UCI and UCSD as sort of socially dead... so what is there to do? throw crazy parties in your dorm room? go out into the city to party? or do people just stay in their dorm rooms and study all day?

i heard for ucsd ppl just go to USD or SDSU to party and sometimes even mexico

not sure about uci

You'll get what you're looking for, wherever you go. If you want to party enough, it'll be there.

do a lot of people at UCI go to LA parties/clubs over the weekend by any chance? or do they just go home...

UCSD is a very dead place. Kids go to the beaches, SDSU, USD, or Mexico to party.

i just got a tour of irvine from a family friend who is a senior there. although it probably depends on the person, she said that most people at irvine usually just chill. this is no surprise considering 60% of uci is asian, they are probably studying (not being racist, its true). LA is too far for a lot of the students especially those who do not have a car. While touring uci today, i immediately noticed how clean and sterile the campus and even the frat houses are. everything is so nice and clean, doesn't look like too much partying goes on here.

I never knew UCI had a socially dead reputation. I love the area it's in. It's so close to A LOT of shopping - South Coast Plaza, Fashion Island, etc. & If you want to go on road trips LA is an hour or so away, Disneyland = 30 minutes ish.
There's beaches nearby as well (Laguna isn't too far off).

Although the majority of people are Asian, and Asians have the nerdy rep, think about it. UCI supposedly is for the "dumber" Asians, so it's not so nerdy.

My brother says Dave & Busters is a popular spot once you're old enough (haha!). But yeah, there's a lot of clubs you can go to. Plus, there's tons of music venues down there.

& for partying, lol, there are definitely parties.

I was there yesterday, the campus is clean because it's spring break.

i have lived in irvine for the past 8 years and its true about it being socially dead. im going to UCI next year and even though its no UCSB if you want a party you will find one. the beaches are awesome it takes like 20 minutes to get there and its true there is a lot of shopping. realistically you can go up to LA on the weekends too. i think it all depends on the person.

lets not say dumber asians haha. how bout asians who have a life?
