Things you used to believe when you were little.

I used to believe that people were out to get me, and I would have to duck windows or else they might shoot at me. I believed that my father was always an adult, and I believed that every time you said faries don't exist one died.

Oh my that sounded like a college entrance essay.

I never knew my parents and aunts and uncles and grandparents were related to each other. I thought there was some sort of system where they just permanently played those roles as whatever.

Then I got really confused when I heard my mom call my grandma "mom"

Ew, I hate Rugrats. I only liked the episode when they imagined they were in the Old West but they were actually at a playground.

Wishbone, Fraggle Rock, Legends of the Hidden Temple, GUTS, Busytown, Puzzle Place... yeah. Now THOSE were quality.

When I heard a story on the news about guerrilla fighters, I thought they meant gorillas. I could never figure out how they got gorillas to carry guns.

I used to think that fans were capable of eating people. And I also used to sprint up the stairs from the basement, thinking that something was going to grab me.

What was that one with the worm in the apple car?

Yeah.

I used to think that people worked in vending machines.

lol mostly immaturity.

we still love each other though. =]

This thread is so cute! =)

I used to believe that people back in the day were black and white ('cause of pictures). I remember once asking my mom: "Mom, how did people get colorful?"

=D!!!!

I thought that they went inside of Chuckey in that episode....

anyway, i used to think that people saw colors differently, but because they had learned them that way, it made since (like my red is your blue, but neither of us know it). I'm still not sure that it isn't true...

also, even as a little kid, I never really got heaven. So i would wonder what would happen to you when you die. like what you see. it's not just black emptiness, because you're not there, and how boring it would be because it's forever. but then you're not bored because you don't exist. i've since given up knowing everything :) Faith (not necessarily religion) wins over knowledge sometimes.

[edit] wow, this makes me look like a deep little kid.
to help fix that, I used to think that when I grew up, I would live in the backyard in this little fort that we had. when i got a little older, i changed that into building a house next door.

i believed that I had x-ray vision. (i would lay my head down side-ways and look at my hand. when you do it, your brain is interpretting what you see from both of your eyes differently, so you can see "through" your hand).

i used to think that your garage-door opener worked from anywhere (you didn't have to be close). so i would get worried when i would see my dad bump something against it and we were way across town, because i would think that our house was just open, and somebody would steal all of our stuff.

things i used to believe in: santa claus, the easter bunny, the tooth fairy, the infallibility of my parents, formal education, my ability to get into a "top" college...

That Duke wasn't difficult to get in...

Wow... I remember the Logical Journey of the Zoombinis. I used to play that for hours on end. I didn't have any weird beliefs about it though...

That all my mom's friends were my aunts

usna - But my mom's best friend IS considered my aunt... at least we call her that.

So that could make sense.
