Thinking about my Ph.d/ M.d already!

I’ve been thinking much later down the line but currently I’m in a combined bachelor’s and masters program but looking ahead I wasn’t sure if this would work for my planned M.d or Ph.d. so right now I’m enrolled to graduate in 5 years with a bachelor’s in psychology and a masters in special education. But beyond this if I wanted to pursue a doctoral degree in psychology or even psychiatry would I need to change my plans or could I make this work still.

Basically if I had a B.S. in psychology and M.ed in special education could I still work towards some sort of M.d or Ph.d in psychology without a M.A. or M.S. in psychology.

Sorry if this is all a bit convoluted but aside from special education I was also considering child psychology or psychiatry and just was a bit confused.

You would need to take pre-med courses if you want to go to med school. Will you be able to take these courses and still get the two degrees in 5 years?

As noted above, there are specific courses you’d need to take in order to apply to medical school(you’d also need to take the MCAT, etc). I’d suggest you visit the pre med forum on CC.
Having the master’s won’t make any difference for medical school-but also note that one doesn’t obtain “some sotr of M.d”-medical school is a distinct course of professional study which requires a specific application, and one doesn’t specialize(in psychiatry, for example) until after graduating from medical school and starting residency.
