I was previously set on buying a sony viao. But after some research I found myself eliminating the sony as a choice. Now I've narrowed down to three laptop brands but I need some help as to which I should get. Of the three, Lenovo(IBM) Thinkpad, Dell (Inspiron E1405), or Toshiba? Thanks

Dell E1405 when it's on a huge sale: I tweaked the E1405 to cost about $1700 even though the original price was $2900ish. I'm ****ed I didn't end up buying it.

It is not logical to narrow laptops down by brand. You should narrow them down by screen size, weight, and power. THEN once you have all of those possiblities you start to look at build quality, screen quality and brand.

lol im just saying that cuz i have one. lol. they're great for college. most colleges use the PC system so def. dont get mac unless u want to put up with transferring files, etc. i have a Dell 6000. it's a great computer-17" and lots of space for storage, etc.

I own a Toshiba. Unless you plan on spending most of your college life (outside of school work) on your computer, it's not important.

how about switching to an apple. i think that's the way to go. pc laptops aren't stable enough. the apple will be a good investment for college and u do get discounts on it as a college student. hope this helps..i switched last year and it was the best decision i have made in some time.

I would say Toshiba or Apple... but that's just me.

pc laptops are plenty stable, if you had any problems it was because of the software you ran on it

I would go Dell, but Thinkpads are supposed to be really good. The bad thing about Dell is their customer service, though. My DVD/R Drive broke and it took forever to get in touch with them to get a replacement. Then, they sent it to the wrong place and tried to charge those people for it (nobody should have been charged because it was covered on my warranty). THEN, those people thought it was my fault and contacted my school police and accused ME of fraud! Boy was I shocked! Luckily, the school police were on my side and got it all taken care of. What an experience. . .

Best quality=Thinkpad
Best Price=Dell
