Hrm. The board is dead because I haven't been around. Hahhaa. :) Speaking of which, the Presidential Inauguration was great, and .. the food at the GUCC was.. eh. But, on the other hand, the campus was beautiful! Too bad I couldn't spend more time.. but hey..

Good to have you back. That Tlaktan flair is what was missing from this board. ;)

PS- right before you left, you mentioned that you had been accepted to 6 (or 7?) other colleges, and deferred at one. I know that you have been accepted to UMich and Notre Dame, but where else?

I think that couple from Amazing Race need to divorce! Why aren't her girlfriends telling her how abusive he is?!?! They were AMAZING to watch, but only in a terribly negative way. I did the happy dance when they were eliminated!

you flail around a lot and squeeeeee (if you're a girl)

I'm totally rooting for Kris and Jon. They're incredible. I almost feel like they're planted, because they're wayyyyy too sweet and nice to each other.

Once again, this board has succumbed to a state of hibernation and stagnation. I'm even starting to post more on the Brown board! 'Tis a sad day... :(

well that's clearly because American Idol's on now lol.

we should have an American Idol discussion thread...I agree with whoever said that earlier, about how it's much funnier to watch the top 12 that SUCK and just ridicule everything about them. And laugh when they get ejected and cry. lol!

I mean like yesterday there was that woman who got through to the next round and decided to go home anyway, and they spent like 5 minutes recording her as she just repeated the phrases "emotional stress" and "I'm going home, even though I got through" about twelve times. WHO CARES?!?!?! WE GET IT! lol

There was a travel channel thing about Washington DC last night and they were talking about how Georgetown has become an elitist/preppy community thanks to the school.

I keep hearing really mixed things about Georgetown FinAid. I know that they have a relatively small endowment and I've heard a few horror stories, but my good friend met someone at the Georgetown MUN conference who actually got more money from Georgetown than from Princeton, which is pretty insane.

Yeah, my counselor said that Georgetown gives pretty good finaid. She had a student who's EFC was really low and Georgetown didn't make her take more than $5K in loans.

It seems odd that a school can make an area preppy/elitist.. There are tons of congressman, senators, ambassadors, and other political-types that live in Georgetown because it is so near to everything. They're the ones that drive up the housing prices, not a fancy university.

Though the school was there first, it seems like the area would foster and attract the preppy kids to go there.

Speaking of preppy people, I've heard a lot of bad things about Georgetown recently. Since I haven't really spent any time on campus..I don't know what to make of this. Then again, I figure how much worse than Southern California can Georgetown be (and in six months I'll be eating my words :) )
