<p>I've heard that if you're decribing something that happened to you, they usually like it to be pretty recent.</p>
<p>ack. :( i already started two paragraphs. it's about how a certain playground played such a big role in my life, and i told a story about the individual events that happened in that playground, and what they mean to me.</p>

<p>I don't see the problem. As long as you reveal who you are currently, your values and style of thinking, through the writing, that's what the adcoms are looking for. Just don't waste words on the playground itself, the swings, the slides, the particular events. The events are just the vehicle for true expressions of yourself.</p>
<p>Really an essay is all in the writing. But it is much more interesting and to the point of college application if you speak more to high school experiences. This sounds like a poor choice, unless you are really a good writer. And I think details make an essay.</p>
<p>you need to get more specific. if you already started, hell don't stop.</p>
