This is impossible to balance this Chem equation!

Nh3 + O2 -----> N2 + H2o

coefficients=
4,3,2,6

at least i think, god knows...

Yep 4,3,2,6 is right.

4NH3 + 302 >> 2N2 + 6H20

iite good.....

happy to kno i didnt forget that ****

Let me show you what to do when in doubt.

Label each formula as a,b,c,d across.

So nh3 would be a, o2 as b, n2 as c, h2o as d

Now take each element
n
h
o

determine the ratios of each element.

n: 1a=2c
H: 3a=2d
o: 2b=1d

Now set a=1 and solve for each other variable

Once you get the answers, if you have any fractions, just multiply by the least common multiple.

So you get
1
3/4
1/2
3/2 for a,b,c,d respectively

multiply by 4 to get 4,3,2,6

If you had like the h2o and o2 on the same side, and like co2 on the other, it would be like 1a+2b=2c or whatever.

Get it?

I know most can be done just by looking, but I find this helpful when it gets into big organic equations and when it gets really long.

fu(K that *****....
just write it and then put on some trial and error coefficients...it usually works much faster...

I suppose you didn't read where I said that that is helpful if you get stuck by just looking at it.

No, I didn't...

stop replying to Oboesmrtguy40, the fag's just makin us do his hwk..

Easy homework too. Is this really AP Chem? This far into the year?

Could be block scheduling? but still, this is a cakewalk for ap chem. we did this at the beginning of honors chem

exactly......this is bull*****, CCers need more than this to even come close to "stimulating" ;)

We drink chemicals for breakfast!

Ha! My somewhat stupid friend is in the "Chemistry in the Community" Class and for his assignment, he was writing down the names of chemicals in the food he was eating, so we do in fact have chemicals for breakfast (as was the lesson the school feels the stupid kids need to learn)

We humans are chemicals, although (mostly) nonvolatile.

Heh... I'd think it was common sense sittingbull. Unfortunately not. Mmm... NaCl.

And kman, some people are actually quite volatile. I'm sure you've seen them around.

thanks for the help uinsecure....you are y but hey what can i say...you dont even know me so how the * u gonna say *** to me...I have straight A's dumbass

and i didn't make anyone do my hw..i asked for help...and u didnt do shee-it so u can scratch the 'we" biotch

Are u reviewing for the chem exam? My class last week finished bases and acids. 2 weeks from now my teacher plans to spend the rest of the reviewing for the exam.

If your AP Chem class is balancing equations in March I'd worry if you didn't have an A.

see i find these year long classes out of hand. rmaindn, you will have 1/2 of march, all of april and then whatever time in may to review for one measly stinkin exam. some schools are fanatic about having kids pass that rather than just learning new, exciting material.
