On the last page of the Common App online, it says:

"Please note that once submitted to any institution, this version of your Common Application can no longer be edited or changed."

Does this mean that once I submit to one school, I can't change my applications anymore? What if I want to submit forms to different schools with different content? For example, if I want to ask financial aid from one school but not another?

Use alternate versions. Search the Help Center of the Common App for details For some reason I can’t copy and paste the link to the page properly

You can create different versions.

Before you create alternate versions of your application, please read and understand the following important information:

**Once the original version of the application is submitted, it is electronically sealed. Although a student may submit to other colleges using this application version, it cannot be edited.

*If you have any questions, please ask the Support Team *before submitting your supplement.

You can create an alternate version of your application by following the steps below.

Step1: You must submit the Common Application to at least one institution. When this is complete, you must log out of your account.

Step 2: You must then click on the following weblink: http://www.commonapp.org/CommonApp/D...allowcopy=true. You will be presented with a login screen to the Common Application. You must then enter your existing Username and Password and click Login.

Step 3: You will be presented with a screen titled ‘Application Versions,’ where you will see information about the application that you’ve already submitted. You may then click on the ‘Replicate’ link to create an alternate version of your submitted application. When this is complete, a second version will be visible on this screen. A special drop down will appear in the upper right corner of the application20to allow quick access to all your applications.

Step 4: You may edit the alternate version to allow for college-specific information

Does that me the TE of the first version will also be saved on the second version? Thanks!

I’m not sure about that one, all of my teacher recs were sent via mail.

Application versions only refer to and affect the application. Your secondary school report, teacher evaluations, and supplements will all be fine. Your secondary school report and teacher evaluations are the same across all versions, and your supplement will “follow” the college in your My Colleges list if you move that college to a different version of your application.
