Hi. I'm trying to get a better sense of what the MIT application process is like firsthand, beyond the website descriptions, etc. So, I'm asking for experiences of those who applied to MIT, regardless of the outcome. Please go ahead, lay it all on me. What do you believe was the most critical part of the process? Did you interview? Why or why not? If you were deferred or rejected, can you infer the reasons? Did you apply EA or RA? Why?

MIT is one of my "dream schools," but bear in mind it is not the only one on my list, and I have plenty of backups. I just want to hear what people have to say about their application/interview experiences so I may be better prepared for my own.

Thanks in advance,
Travis
