Thoughts on CMU's IR Program?

Was wondering if any current students/recent alums have opinions/thoughts on the International Relations Program. If anyone has on-the-ground intelligence on the new Global Politics major, that would be appreciated, too!

Tepper's International Management track is pretty great from what the results show. I think having such a diverse student body definitely helps. Many students go back to India/China/Korea after CMU.

I'm entering as a freshman this fall as a global politics and english double major... can't tell you much yet, other than what they've told me... Global politics is their replacement for the old political science major, and was created with the intention of acknowledging a more globalized society and its politics.

likeatuesday, are you going to be able to double major and graduate in the normal 4 years?

If you are considering IR, then also consider joining the International Relations Organization. It holds events and even runs MUN to enhance to your IR experience. A lot of various majors are actually in it (many business and CIT) because it also gives them a chance to explore IR and foreign policy without adding the major itself.
