OK, show me the data and I’ll look at it.
I’m not saying that an an unaccredited engineering BA from a school like Dartmouth is worthless. I am saying that it is not worth as much – to a traditional engineering employer, grad school, or licensing board – as an ABET-accredited Dartmouth BE. On the other hand, the Dartmouth BA could have just as much value as the BE to a non-traditional employer who just wants some demonstrated technical competency, in a field like management or government or finance.
Note that Dartmouth itself calls the BE the “professional” degree. Dartmouth also indicates that most of their engineering majors complete the BE program. In other words, most Dartmouth engineers prefer the ABET degree, despite the additional time and cost.

Of course I’m not saying that – because there’s no such thing as a DeVry ABET engineering degree.
(To be clear, DeVry does offer ABET degrees in other, non-engineering fields, like technology or computer science, but those represent completely unrelated forms of ABET accreditation).
