Thoughts on Drexel for Masters in Engineering?

Hi all,

At the moment I am waiting on decisions from schools and so far I got accepted into two schools one of which is Drexel for a Masters in Mechanical Engineering co-op option. The other is a SUNY which I have attended as a undergrad. I haven’t seen many recent discussions on Drexel and just wanted to know some thoughts about the program in general (such as how good of a program is it, how exactly does the co-op program work for graduate studies, etc.), the neighborhood surrounding the University, tuition prices since I’ve heard Drexel tends to be more expensive, how do their graduate studies compare to those of let’s say a SUNY or to somewhere like NYU/Columbia, and anything else really since if I decide to go, I will be coming from New York.
Thanks.

Drexel is a private AITU shool and is well regarded by employers. Because it is private, in-state or out or state is not a factor in the tuition, while it is likely to be for you at SUNY. NYU’s engineering school is Polytechnic Institute of NYU which is also part of AITU and comparable to Drexel. I cannot say what the specific value of Drexel’s graduate co-op program would be except to say that work experience is always a plus in finding a job after graduation.
