<p>So anybody else got an opinion on the THES rankings?</p>
<p>You see, i don't believe in rankings.. I use rankings as a search engine to find colleges that i can be a potential applicant of. Then i look into the dept of intended major and look at their faculty, course descriptions etc... and also look at their teaching methodology, location, diversity etc.. You can find amazing institutions with amazing career placements like WPI that arent very highly ranked and dont even feature on the THES rankings...</p>
<p>are there books that rank/ describe world colleges? like in the us we have princeton review that puts out the 356 (or something like that) best each year and has great descriptions for starting your search, but i havent found anything other than rankings for unis abroad...</p>

<p>There are local books that talk about universties in their own countries. Usually these books are produced by newspapers that also produce the rankings. As far as I know there is no book like the princeton review for world universites.</p>
<p>There is this book called Peterson's.
Its US published, but pretty good.</p>
