I will be a junior this fall and will be taking ap calculus AB and ap stats... Which calculator will be better? I'm really used the format of the TI-84 so which one of these is more like it? The nspire or the 89? Which one would you recommend and why?

Even though I never used a CX CAS, by the reviews, I recommend it. It is much more powerful / more room for programs / can play gameboy color games etc on it. I don’t know how to use the CX CAS very well, but that is just like 84 users trying to use the 89, they think it is horrible and hard to use, (when they don’t own one)
There are a lot more features on it that I wish I had as an 89 user.

The 89 itself is a powerful calculator and it is a no brainer to say get that instead of the 84. And I won’t even try to argue that the 89 is any better (like the 84 users do for their calculator!)

I also am wondering this for Calculus
I’m leaning towards Nspire cx cas but i’ve never used a graphing calculator before so i’m hesitant to jump in based on reviews (outside of my cc loves <3)

@Weeknd
Yeah same I’m also leaning towards the nspire CX CAS and will probably end up getting that one since most people I have talked to recommend the nspire

The CAS is amazing!

I’m just worried about learning to use it since im SURE nobody in my school has one or my teachers knowing how to use it either.
But i figure i can pick up on that.
Does it show you the steps it has done when you input? Worried that it solving for you will hinder the “showing your work” element on hw/tests
idk the reviews are confusing

Get the CAS.

Even though you won’t need it. Get it.

LOL i like the way you said that, IM SOLD

It’s a beautiful calculator.

If someone gives you a hard time about getting it you can jut sit there and say, “Oh, I’m sorry. I was too busy drawing my 79 side polygon, overlapping them with circles and triangles, and coloring them.”

Yeah someone just told me it was like slow and nobody knows how to use it etc. lulz
he suggested a 84-silver
