What's difference between a TI-89 and a TI-83 (other than the fact that they have different numbers :))? CCer's are saying that you need a TI-89 for a good score on the Math II. I am very comfortable with a TI-83, is that enough?

I got through fine with my trusty TI-83+. TI-89's are pretty cool because they can solve equations for you and have other really nifty features, but unless you familiarize yourself with it, I don't think it would help you that much on the Math IIC. I think the features are a lot more helpful in AP Calc.

TI-89 Is AWESOME....the diff is ..it can solve equations, Factor, Expand, find zeros, find complex zeros, easily multiply matrices and add them, do Summatiion, multiplatication notation and pertty much do almost eeverything in ALg2..all built in ..and very fast if u know how to use it....not to mention that it could save you ALOT of time
i d say if ur using ti-89...u d only need to know only 50-70% as much to get the same grade u would if u didnt have it....lol

I got a perfect score on MathII with my TI-83. There's nothing on the test for which you even NEED a high-end calculator like a graphing calculator. No doubt a TI-89 might make a problem or two a little easier to solve, but it would not be a good idea to go out and spend the $120 on a brand new 89 just for this test. You won't know how to use it, for one thing.

Ti-86 is the best one. :)
