timing college LSAT law school ?timing of LSAT preparation

As I understand it, June is an ideal time to take a LSAT to allow for OCT to retake. One could theoretically apply during Senior year of college and start attending the following Fall. However, where is the time to prepare for the LSAT? Spring Junior year seems like a time to focus on the GPA. If one were to take time off (personal leave) Spring of Sophmore year, take the LSAT in June, apply in Sept for entry the following Sept there would be a term due for college so could not start Law school on time. While I recognize there are many options, what do people typically do to maintain high GPA and to obtain a good LSAT score (meaning adequate time for preparation).

I prepared for it during the summer between junior and senior years of college and took it in the fall of senior year. I wouldn’t do that again. First, the earlier you apply to law schools that have rolling admissions, the better, and so taking the LSAT before the fall of senior year is smarter if you plan to apply during your senior year. Second, these days it’s a good idea to work for a year or two between college and law school, and so it isn’t necessary to take the LSAT during senior year; you can do it after college. I believe that LSAT scores of people who take the LSAT post-graduation are higher than those who take it during college, although I don’t know why that would be.
