My child has applied to Cornell ILR regular. I realize Cornell does not do merit. WE doubt we’d get traditional financial aid, though we filled out the CSS and FAFSA. While my husband’s income is generally good, he is self-employed, had cancer twice, his old employer folded after a few years of declining pay, medical bills, etc., so our situation is not great. We have a HS sophomore. My main question is for Cornell (and only Cornell–would have if he had gotten into Claremont McKenna) we would probably do whatever necessary to send him. Does our applying for financial aid (submitted IRS thru IDOC) impact his chances on getting in? We were thinking of withdrawing it if it did. Input from all of you wise people most welcome.

No. Cornell is need-blind for admissions purposes for domestic applicants.

I’m sorry that you didn’t get in :frowning: What school are you planning on going now?
