Usually my weakest section here. Time is my main issue, I usually get to the 4th passage with ~5 minutes left, fly through it, and still end up leaving 5 or 6 questions blank. After the time ends, I go back and do the questions and get most of them right. If I am able to answer them, I would be getting low 30's, which is what I am shooting for for that section.

Any tips to help improve my speed?

I have the same problem. I have tried to incorporate some speed reading techniques, but that is always a struggle since speed reading compromises my comprehension to some degree. I have starting using my finger to guide my eyes during the reading so that I stay at a consistent pace and I am not tempted to go back and re-read something that I don’t quite get. That is my normal reading habit because I am so focused on understanding what I read. I think on the ACT you have to be more focused on the structure of the passage and main ideas and knowing where to go back to look for details if you need them. It is just a totally different kind of reading than I use in school.
