<p>Although American Pageant’s writing style is not at all bland as the other history books, I don’t like it because of its overuse of metaphors and sometimes the writing can become annoyingly pretentious. Moreover, the information doesn’t seem to connect when I’m reading.</p>
<p>^ Haha, American Pageant is indeed colorful… “And the 1920s witnessed what many old-timers regarded as a veritable erotic eruption.” What annoyed me was how it started off every presidental intro. with a physical description. “JQA was 5 foot 5 with blue eyes”, etc.</p>
