Haha how are the proms like in India?!
Do the guys and girls just stand on opposite sides of the room?!
And do you guys wear salwars/saris/sherwanis?! What music do you play?! Do you play like those love songs from Dilwani Dulhenia Le Jayenge?

Lol that happens at some proms here. It’s sort of awkward.

Um. It’s not like a prom at all. I just mentioned prom to give you an idea of what I meant.
The school farewell is thrown by the eleventh standard students for the 12th standard batch sometime in January after the last pre- boards after something most school call ‘scribble day’ (we take each others school shirts and scribble[nice stuff ofcourse]).

The school farewell is this really formal ocassion, atleast in our school where every 12th grader is greeted with roses and we have to follow a proper dress code which is sherwani and suit for boys and girls in 11th respectively and suit(tux?) and sari for boys and girls in 12th respectively. There is a DJ and everything, we have it in the assembly ground but its in the morning around 11:00 onwards to 4:00.
Songs? All kinds from the corny old ones to the new ones out.

Haha, no there’s no room to stand on opposite sides of, guys and girls can dance with each other if they wish without any problem, lol. It’s a really nice atmosphere so one can dance with anyone they wish to without getting whistled at.

I’m just dreading the sari part. Can you imagine dancing in a sari? I cant even imagine walking without falling in one ;)

Tbh, I like the idea of the american prom better simply because you have it more than twice in your school career.

Guys. GUYS.
TiT #18. is . gone.

Yeah, my winter formal’s coming up and it’s pretty crazy. Haha it’s in my school ballroom. The juniors are hosting it.

But oh goodness, no. I hate wearing saris! They’re so pretty, but really hard to put on and kind of uncomfortable.

I might wear one for my favorite aunt’s wedding this summer.

hey whatever the hell happened to the main thread??i cant find it?

^ Enjoy the ‘tech malfunction’ while you can. Here we all are, suffering with a huge posting history comprising of nothing but spam.

EDIT- I just noticed! My posting history also got wiped out! I was nearing a 1000. Isn’t this disappointing in the way when you suddenly can’t build properly in tetris?

techfreak99, cafe is a post count freeze zone.

i see…where are you from tippu?

So, we wait another two weeks before ans/blue/funnypunjabi build another TiT, huh?

Oh, darn. I don’t feel like sleeping at all. Half my day went into festive activity and all I feel like doing is alternating b/w sparknotes and cc atm.
I know I’m going to be cursing myself tomorrow. I even forgot to get my customary chocolate for the test tomorrow.

pixie, we can start a new one immediately and call it The Indian Thread XIX why don’t you do the honors?

techfreak, I am just a pretender from the US and I am here to learn about Indians applying to US universities.

There’s no way I’m starting one when the mods just deleted it.

Why do you call yourself a pretender, Tippu?
