<p>It’s not bad, just unnecessary. FWIW: Most college essays books suggest not using a title.</p>

<p>Use it if it makes sense to you. I heard an ad com say that one of the essays he remembered reading (and he reads thousands during the application season) really stood out because it had a title: D is for Chemistry.</p>
<p>He said it told him a lot about the writer before he even read the essay.</p>
<p>Alright that makes sense. But I can see why it isn’t suggested because a forced title could easily diminish the essay. When the time comes I’ll decide whether or not to use it.</p>
