Hahahaha, that's hilarious. I read in The Gatekeepers that Wesleyan's director of admissions personally scribbles a personalised note for all letters, whether acceptance or rejection. No idea if they still do this, but I suppose for her it was manageable because they probably don't have the volume of applications Harvard does.

Hakima tell me if i got in pleasseeee

but seriously are all decisions to be posted at 5:00 PM? Or if not before what time should they all be out?

haha! oh! why have a machine to do that?

Hakima, do you know the early admission stats? (i.e. % accepted, deferred, rejected)

Many of the college counselors know beforehand, yes. Depends on the relationships they have with the various schools. But while they MIGHT hint, they'll never be able to say beforehand, or it would kill those relationships and trust.

rd31: You will find that out in due time.

is it possible (if so, how much) to get in without an interview?

If they heard beforehand I imagine it would have to be after all the committee meetings because it sounds like seems change. I read that some could be on the admitted list and then taken off if there are too many accepted ect

Do they use Express mail for the decision letters? both accept letters and defer or rej letters?

Hakima! Thanks so much for the encouraging post! O gosh, I wonder what the acceptance rate is!!!

Go Beyond: They use USPS Priority Mail for acceptance letters, whereas for Deferral/Rejection they use normal mail.

Searched out this thread in the archives and wanted to bump it...even though it's addressed to EA applicants I think the words of wisdom are applicable to all applicants. I know I enjoyed reading this when waiting for decisions.

Good luck everyone!

I concur, I remember this thread helping retain a little bit sanity in the anxiety-fraught days leading up to decision day!
