yeah, that was my first response. I was just seeing if you meant something different.

So what you’re saying is De Anza has a ton of dudes? I guess, I manage to see quite a few attractive girls walking around campus near noon.

HigherHopes, care to share how you managed two jobs, one of them full-time, while taking so many units? If you can, outline a typical school day as detailed as you can.

I’m trying a full-time job combined with school (although I’m not taking nearly as many units as you were)

hi noregret,

a typical week for me went something like this:
mon-thursday:
full-time work 5am-1:30pm (approximate)
school from about 1:30/2pm-9/10pm
part-time work saturday and sundays 6am-2pm
i also took a couple of the classes online.

one quarter, my schedule was really confusing:
work 5am-10am
school 10:20am-1:30pm
back to work: 1:45pm-5pm
back to school: 5:30pm-8pm

i spent my breaks/lunches doing homework/studying for tests
&
all my free time was spent on friends/gf or sleeping.

Higherhopes,

Could you please provide your your CC gpa? You have an amazing schedule that is near impossible. And congrats on getting in UCLA. Also, do you know if the admission board balances student’s work and study?

i left de anza with a 3.956,
i had a 4.0 every quarter except my first, where i received 1 B (in an easy class too). I regret that B every time i think about it, haha. i spent too much time flirting & not enough paying attention (hint- don’t take classes with your gf/bf!)

the admission board does take your work into consideration. they like to know what you do with your time, whether it be work, ec’s, volunteer, etc.

again, my schedule was really untraditional (the reason i took so many units was because i was making sure i had the pre reqs done for several different majors, just in case) so don’t feel bad if you’re only take 12-16 units, which is normal.

thanks for the congrats!
& still let me know if you have anymore questions! :)

haha HigherHopes you make me feel like I’ve been super lazy at De Anza… you’re a machine!
