I hate you.

Ditto

10 char

You created a post to say “I hate you”? My teacher would lecture me if I say the word “hate” when I don’t mean it. I don’t think you meant hate, perhaps dislike was what you wanted? Hate is a very strong word, just so you know.

And if I were you, I wouldn’t dislike them either. I would instead dislike the freshman admits that beat me =D when I applied in high school.

Edit: I think you’re talking about classes, woopsie. Forget everything I said. haha, I hate everyone who registered for classes at my CC! teehee

^ you have too much time.

i HATEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOU. :)

lol.

what was your date/time?

Do UCSD transfers have an earlier or later date than current students? What about freshmans? How does the class registration work for transfers?

nunjabes29,

Deanza starts soon, so that’s why I’m free. So glad I have a few more weeks to go. Dang, I want school to start NOW!!! =)

haha I go to De Anza too, kinda sucks having an extra month when everyone else is in school already…

Oh well, fall books go on sale Sept. 2nd. I guess I’ll use that time to get ahead? lame, lol.

SDhopeful,

I’m an incoming freshman, so would you mind telling me what books I’d be needing? I’m going to take Phil1, Sociology, Reading 211 and Writing something. I’m part of the Impact (FYE)program, and they gave me extra classes when I don’t even need them. sigh

fill me in w/ the book information, would you please? Thanks in advance!

You can find the assigned textbooks here:
http://books.deanza.edu/SelectTermDept.aspx

You shouldn’t have too much trouble with that schedule, it’ll give you a chance to get used to De Anza.

Make sure to select future classes from here:

How did this go from a thread about UCSD to one about DeAnza?

Anyways, adjkimm. The enrollment order is:

@lmendoza I thought that was San Diego, according to Ron Burgundy.

@HigherHopes wow, that’s awesome and inspiring! haha thanks for the offer.

What’s a “whales vagina”?

Higherhopes,
How many units did you take at Deanza per quarter? Was getting classes hard for you? What is your best recommendation in order do well at De Anza? Where can I get the most help if my professors aren’t available?

LiveTheLimit,

I was untraditional in that I took an average of 25-34 units per quarter (the least being 12 my first quarter, most being 36.5 my second-to-last quarter). You need to get approval from a counselor/dean to exceed the limit of 21.5. That isn’t necessary at all, but I wasn’t sure which major I was going to do so I wanted to make sure I had all my options’ prereqs completed. If you know what you want to do, then it should only take about 15 units per a quarter, and less if you do summer school (which I did also). I also had at least 2 jobs for all 2 years (one full-time).

Most of the teachers at De Anza are really good, and De Anza itself is one of the best CC’s in the nation. There are tutoring/help centers on campus to help you with stuff like math/sciences, and you could also use the library reserve rooms for study groups. Also, for a lot of classes, there are “Adjunct Skills” classes that go with the course. Some teachers offer extra credit if you go to those. Most teachers have office hours that you can go to if you need help or have questions (should be detailed on syllabi). Every teacher of mine, except for one, has had open office hours (because they get paid more if they do).

Now about getting classes. Tough call. Some teachers add everybody on the waitlist and everybody who shows up, others only add one or two from the WL, and a few don’t add any. It’s probably the hardest to get into bio, chem, and high level math classes because they fill up so quickly and the teachers are not likely to add many people. It’ll get easier to get in to classes as the quarters go on (because with time, your priority level increases). I never had a big problem getting my classes except for Biology and Calculus, which were such a pain to get into (I ended up taking Calculus at another school).

I hope I answered your questions sufficiently… let me know if I missed anything or if you have any other q’s.

urbandict. do it
