I started this thread for previous applicants so they can give insight to future applicants. Basically what did you do during the application process (interview, application, essays, and test prep) that you wish you did or didn't do?? And what are things that you are glad that you did and why? Please feel free to add advice or anything else that you deem beneficial. Thank you!

On only one application, the Parent Statement asked us to comment on a “weakness” that the child has. We were honest and identified something our kid could improve one. That was the only school that rejected DC. The lesson: Be cautious about commenting on any negatives.

At another school, the alum interviewer told our kid to make sure to make friends with the day students with cars. That comment pretty much crossed off from this parent’s short list the schools w high percentage of day students. Too bad we paid the application fee already. The lesson: Learn more about the school before you decide to apply. Don’t apply to a school just because it has a famous name.
