To get in-state tuition fees for UC

Beside reading all the referenced material and seeing everything on your school’s current web site, talk to various professionals at the school who would be more expert on this. They would be aware of the rules, what has changed, what is on the horizon, how this situation would be evaluated. Good luck @nogoofy on completing your education and all you personal plans.

Marriage may fulfill the financial independence (from parents) requirement, but there are also the physical presence and intent requirements that one needs to fulfill to get residency for tuition purposes…

UCbalumnus…even if this student and her husband gain instate status because they satisfy the three prong test…financial independence (which getting married will satisfy), intent to stay in the state, and physical presence (which presumably they will have)…would this net them any additional need based financial aid at their UC?
