To go for a PhD or not? (biophysics major)

Hi all,
I'm currently a junior biophysics major. I've got about 6 months of research experience in an academic lab (and will continue in this lab through next semester and senior year). I'm in the process of applying to internships and am looking primarily at industry programs in order to get a broader range of experience.

More importantly, however, I've been thinking about what I want to do post graduation. I love science, but I'm unsure of whether or not I want to go for a PhD. I see myself likely going the industry route in the long run. I've heard conflicting opinions on this, but without a PhD do you cap out at a significantly lower salary level than with just a BA? Furthermore, what kind of career options in the long run would I be looking at with a BA in Biophysics? These seem like basic questions and I'm kind of embarrassed to have to ask them on here, but I kind really find a straight answer from many people and don't have a ton of connections on the industry side of things to inquire about their career path. Thank you all so much!

What do you want to do? If you want to become a college prof than a PhD is a must. If not, it’s less helpful given the 4-7 years it takes. Check with your career office and get in touch with alumni from your school who majored in biophysics to see what they are doing - it’s all about informational interviews.
