To join the Navy, or not to join the Navy?

17 year old HS junior and I plan on being a clinical pharmacist. My stats:

Summer: Biology 101 at local univeristy, final grade: B

2 honors classes per year since 10th grade, however
12th:
Honors Biotechnology
Journlaism
Physics I
Precalc
Psych/Survey of Agriculture
College Writing/Literary Plays and Dramatics

SAT: total 1620-- 560 reading, 530 math, 540 writing, 11 essay
ACT: 25 composite--30 reading, 22 math, 23 science, 25 writing, 10 essay
AP English lang and comp-2 !!!! PROBLEM!!!!!!!!

I didn't mean for the AP score to be released ---I though I did well, releasted to my first choice University of Rhode Island...

Anyway, overall GPA is a 3.9 W out of 5.33, 3.39 UW
59th of 259, top 22%
I'm looking @ prepharmacy 0-6 (admitted to pharm school in HS), in order of choice
-URI
-Northeastern
-Albany College of Pharmacy
-Mass College of Pharmacy
-St. John's in Queens
Other 2+3 schools if I don't get into MCPHS and URI
-University of Maryland @ College Park (then transfer to Baltimore)
-University of Mass. Amherst (for pre-medical chemistry/later transfer to 4 year pharm program).

AFTER all this is said and done, would it be wise to join the Navy as a clincal pharmacist and help pay of my tuition bills? I mean, I'll get instate tuition for URI, but if I end up at Northeastern, it'll be over 200K in loans and stuff. The Navy would give me money for the student loans, and also help once I get back into the civilian world.

What do you think?

With those stats, Northeastern would be a reach. The mid 50% of their SAT’s are 1880 to 2080 and ACT is 28 to 32.

I think it is better to go in as a pharmacist in order to pay the bills. Going in now would only put your plans on hold. Also, consider branching out past the traditional 0-6 pharmacy schools. With your stats, I would consider some of the newer schools that are opeinig up. For instance, Manchester College is not guaranteeing admission to the new pharmacy school for its pre-pharmacy students, but it is planing to give them preference. If you can bring up your SAT scores, you will have greater options.
