To retake or not to retake: SAT I for Princeton

Good luck, kat1! Here's to some deferral-reversals in the [decimated] CC ED group!

Oh, and kat1: do you have a Xanga account?

She has LJ. But she should definitely look quite seriously into Xanga. hinthint nudgenudge

Oh, Phil... nudges back I used to have a xanga but the format bothered me, so I switched to LJ. I could perhaps be persuaded to create a new xanga, though... (Since I’m sure I’ll be as bored as hell over the hols after, oh, two days of doing absolutely nothing… wait, I’m already bored.)

Speaking of boredom, does anyone have any book suggestions for vacation reading? One of my good friends gave me I am Madame X for an early Christmas present, and it was excellent while it lasted, but unfortunately I finished it last night. (Do you ever have those books where you just have to keep reading until the end, even if it means staying up until 3 a.m. and making a waste of yourself the next day? This was one of those.) If you’re at all interested in Sargent, French society in the late 1800s, American expatriates (due to the Civil War), or the art scene during this period, pick it up. Highly recommended. It’s told as an autobiography written by Virginie Gautreau, a prominent social figure at the time (esp. prominent in the scandal sheets!)

Anyway, yeah, no xanga at this moment… désolé, Kat2.

Made one - I think it goes without saying that I am incredibly bored right now.

I'll PM both of you the address. Anyone else want it?

I'm trying to finish Cry, the Beloved Country so that I may start One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I've heard it's awesome.

But if your eyes get tired from reading, numb your mine with the awesomeness that is known as Wet Hot American Summer on Comedy Central. My favorite comedy movie ever :)

Oh, and I subscribed to your site, kat :) Trop cool, trop cool.

wow. one flew over the cuckoo's nest is an amazing book u should read it phil phil. once again u have passed my post number count =D

See what happens when you fly from the nest, shrek? ;)

Yeah, I can't wait to read it. I'm going to B&N to buy it tomorrow. good times!

I don't think taking it again will help you much if at all. I've seen Princeton accept plenty of people with scores lower than yours and reject people with higher scores. I'd focus on doing whatever you can to boost your resume or activity list rather than your SAT's.

kat we have the same score and im asian which means my score means less than urs =D dont retake it i dont think it will benefit u

Kat1, this is getting stranger (if possible)---Sargent is by far my favorite artist. I listed a huge, illustrated Sargent biography/painting analysis book as my favorite source of inspiration on my Princeton app. I basically learned to paint by copying several of Sargent's oil paintings.
So the list stands:
We....[ul]
[]share the name "Kathleen"
[]are both called "Kat"
[]have second and last initials that are one off--"K.E.B." and "K.F.C."
[]are both Anglophiles
[]both love Princeton (duh)
[]both got deferred =(
[]both like Sargent
[]both take French
[]both have disparities in our SAT's w/800v
[]both like Milton from Office Space
[li]both like Nirvana and Oasis (I'm guessing by your Xanga entry)[/li][/ul]
hmmmm...any more? lol

K.F.C, awesome initials

are y'all twins who were separated at birth? May I refer to you both as Sister, Sister from now on? Ooh, Kat1 can be Tamera and Kat2 can be Tia. Suh-weet!

do you think a 1460 is too low for Princeton (740 V, 720 M)? I have already taken the test twice and I really don't feel like taking it again, but looking at everyone else's scores is kinda depressing...
also, i'm asian, which is even worse

I have following SAT IIs, if it matters: 800 W, 750 IIC, 750 Bio
and a 34 composite ACT

thanks!

A 1460 is the average score for Princeton, so it's not "out of range." If you think you could raise it significantly, then go ahead---but I wouldn't worry otherwise. I was only considering it because I think I could raise that math score quite a bit with some preparation. (I opted not to.)
