I am curious about what you people want to achieve while at Stanford. Are there any specific goals you want to accomplish? Or do you just have anything cool and random to share? I guess this ties back to the "Why Stanford is a good place for you?" essay.

For me, I want to establish a network of friends who will be supporting each other in the future while getting a world-class education. I also want to start my own business and earn enough money to pay for my own tuition fee at least because I do not want to rely solely on my parents anymore.

I want to be met with fresh challenges. My high school work has been pretty easy, and I’m ready for something more. Also, I’m very interested in meeting new people. I’ve been surrounded by the same people my whole life, and I am ready to meet future CEOs, politicians, olympians, nobel prize winners, and us normal people :). In 2014, I hope to leave with a better sense of myself and this world.

I want to meet people who are unique, interesting, and intelligent. All through middle and high school, I’ve been stuck with people who constantly rely on me for help, and it gets a little tiring.

I want to be a CEO… I can’t imagine myself working FOR someone for the rest of my life, so I want to be able to look up and see no one above me (as horrible as it sounds). I think the best way to accomplish this is by surrounding myself with a very diverse group of people and learning from them, and Stanford is the most diverse school (more so than simply ethnicity) that I have ever come to know.

@Vhiremath4: Also from a perspective of a perfectionist (at least that’s what others call me), I also can’t imagine myself working for someone else…I want to be the decision maker, not the decision follower…haha…

@soadquake981: Yess, the Silicon Valley is so great that there are many start-up companies each year…I hope to be part of one of those successful firms…omg, I can’t wait…

@Affe: being surrounded by people that have so much potential feels so good…it can only drive you to improve yourself…I really believe in that =)
