Too many appointments accepted?

So I have been reading on Service Academy forums that about 1450 appts have been given to fill 1230 slots. my question being: what is over 1230 people accept their offers? do some appointees (myself being one of them), get their appointments revoked? just curious...

It will all even out. Highly unlikely that all 1450 will accept. If they do, be prepared for an unusually interesting Plebe year. (so attrition will take care of the overage). No, you won’t have your appointment revoked if you have replied with a “yes”. So, if you’re fence-sitting, decide already!

oh no, don’t worry. i sent my “yes” in last october. USNA all the way!!

'13!!!
GO NAVY!

Last year’s class (2012) ended up with 1261 acceptances. It took a while to assign mailbox numbers, etc., but it all worked out.

I’m thinking USNA is very experienced with how many to offer, how many will accept, etc. No need to worry. You are in! Be smart, stay safe, see you on I-Day!
