too many colleges, help please!

lmao you're having an interesting conversation here with yourself...
yeah i wasn't talking a/b you when i said the SAT thing cuz I knew you had gotten a very good score, but that mom was saying the average score at her kids prep school with more rigorous academics (and thus a lower GPA) was 1370, and I thought that wasn't very reflective of what is supposed to be a more intelligent student body.

You've got some great schools listed there and you have a decent shot at all...just put your heart into the app.

and i can bet you several thousand dollars that you're in at BU, so there's your safety.

Oberlin isn't a safety for anybody.

Yeah, Oberlin is definitely not a safety at all.

how selective is it? more or less than case western?

oberlin: 1361 SAT, 30 ACT, 34% acceptance
case: 1320 SAT, 28 ACT, 68% acceptance

so case western would probably be a safety for me?

Firstly, you need to use get some perspective and narrow your using some fundamental factors; such as geographical. Will you definitely leave home?
Would you be comfortable in California or other far away location? Start there and wind your way down.

ok here's my list right now. geographically, I don't care too much as long as there's something to do in the area.
wash U in stl
upenn
duke
cornell
columbia
u michigan
carnegie mellon
wesleyan
bowdoin
haverford
u chicago
mit
amherst
rice
emory
stanford
harvard

still many too many schools.

would u michigan be a sefety for me? I don't know how selective it is for out of state people.

umich is a match for ppl with your stats in state, its a reach OOS

really? is u michigan that selective? what are the in state vs oos percentages there?

Here'e where you list falls right now, in terms or reach/match/safety.
harvard - super reach
stanford - super reach
mit - super reach
WUSTL - super reach unless you show lots of demonstrated interest

Columbia - reach
UPenn - reach
Duke - reach
Rice - reach
amherst - reach
UMich OOS - definitely REACH
Uchicago - reach
Cornell- reach

the rest - all seem to be matches

I'm curious as to what you consider your "safety" school is? Otherwise, there you go.

how about WUSTL? is that a reach or a slight reach?
