Too many extracurriculars?

Hi there,
Currently I'm a freshman in high school (9th grade) and I'm getting a taste of what high school life is like. I've always liked being busy, taking a lot of extracurriculars, but this year's been a challenge trying to keep up with more schoolwork than I expected.

My parents keep telling me to cut down on my activities, but I'm not sure yet. So far I take dance, piano, I'm on the Debate team at school, Red Cross Club, and HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), and I take all Honors/AP classes. Doesn't sound TOO hard...but its been rough. Is it worth trying to keep up with the activities I have so far, or should I quit some to get more time to study?

Please do give your suggestions, they're really appriciated. Thanks!

skip a few meetings when necessary, you don't have to quit

If you're aiming for the very selective schools, the most important factor will be your academic performance. period.

If you're suffering in coursework, then you need to demonstrate prioritization skills and drop some ECs. A string of Bs at the end of this semester will be VERY noticeable versus the 6-7 lines of EC activities as a freshman.
